A very simple one, as pertaining to breakfasts in a greasy spoon. The rule states "the quality of the breakfast instantly improves with the presence of baked beans"
That may or may not be a direct quote.
This is a very British rule, for this is a common occurance in the Isles. However, here in the New World, only a few have picked it up and placed it on the menu.
The reasoning (or lack of) escapes me.....outside of the bread, wouldn't a dollop of baked beans be the cheapest thing on the plate? I'm sure it's close in cost to that irritating orange slice that restaurants put on a garnish....newsflash, orange slice.....no one likes you. You're all symbolism (look, I'm fresh!) and no substance.
Heres hoping the Cuschieri Rule catches on......and the orange slice gets juiced!
awww -- i never had a rule named after me. thanks A. (6 years too late, i know)
